Automatic insertion of terms from MultiTerm

Trados Suite 2007 has the functionality "Translate terms: Replace" under "Tools", "Translate". This means that I, when I tick "Segment unknown sentences" and press "Translate", will get a target text that is pre-translated with terms from my MultiTerm base (and of course whole segments from TWB, if any). Having the terms from my MultiTerm base inserted in my target text automatically in a batch operation is very important to my work flow. I'm very disappointed that, apparently, this functionality does not exist in Studio 2011...?

  • Hi, you are correct and this does not exist. I think the reason is because it was a little used feature and it is replaced by;

    1. A 100% match will contain the term anyway and

    2. If not, or if it's a fuzzy to no match inserting terms is easier with autosuggest

    You also have QA facilities to find any terms that are not being used from your termbase as you work. Can you maybe share your workflow? It might be possible to suggest a way of working that would work for you.

    Regards
