Slashes in external review target language cause failing update?

Question

I tried to update a translation from an external review and got an error message telling me "multiple paragraphs detected in segment #xy". The error is caused by the use of / in the target language, and except searching and replacing them first in word and after the conversion in Indesign I am out of ideas how to fix this. Since these / are used to seperate gender indicating endings in German I am not sure if this can be avoided somehow. Any ideas?

Hi Paul, thank you for the reply. It's SDL Trados Studio 2015 Professional. It's fixed now and it might have been an exception (never had this before, but working with external reviews seems to be kind of tricky in general, especially if the wordfile has been renamed at a certain point, I suspect it changes the meta data). If I have this problem again I'll keep a copy of the status quo of the original files and send them to you if possible.
