Personally I would like to see "Revert to SDLXIFF" removed and never switch to the generated file in the files view.
When you run "Generate Target Translations" it already asks you "Would you like to open the folder containing your exported documents", so the ability to open generated documents in the files view seems unnecessary. I was wondering if anybody finds it useful?
What on earth is this message I see: "Do you want to revert the native file to sdlxliff format before opening"?? I almost never use Trados but for some jobs I have to. This message looks as if it's gong to delete something I still want - but what? If I just want to go back in and make some changes, do I say Yes or No???
I'm using Trados 2019.

No, you won't delete anything. You probably finalised your translation and in files view you will see that the file has the "original" file extension (*.docx, *.xlsx, etc.) and no longer the file extension *.sdlxliff. Studio just points you to the fact that it will access the SDLXLIFF file (which is still present on your local disc) to open it in the editor. So you can say Yes without any problems.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I clicked Yes and can now carry on.
On the few occasions when I use Trados, I always export the translation to its original format for proof reading. Perhaps that's what triggered the message.
Anyway, now I can carry on.
