I agree... but this wasn't possible unfortunately.  I tried to find the new one but couldn't so here's the basis of the old one:

Symptoms

You translate a Microsoft Word document in SDL Trados Studio and the target document is created without problems. However when you open the target document in Microsoft Word, you receive the following message:

The file cannot be opened because there are problems with the contents

Details
Unexpected end of input.

Confirming the message will just open a blank Microsoft Word document.

Explanation

This message is due to a (rare) problem in the Microsoft Word file type in SDL Trados Studio: this issue may be caused by an additional last paragraph mark (see image below) or tabulator character at the end of the document.


SDL confirm this to be a known issue with the Microsoft Word file type. Until a permanent fix is available, refer to the workaround described below.

Resolution

Workaround:

1. Open the original source document in Microsoft Word.
2. Scroll down to the end of your document.
   NOTE: If you do not see the formatting symbols, click on the Home tab in Microsoft Word, locate the Paragraph section and click on the tabulator symbol to show the formatting symbols.
3. Remove the last paragraph mark, including any additional "stray" tabulator character.
4. Open the source document again in SDL Trados Studio and run a pre-translate task to translate your document ones more.
5. When you are finished and create a target document; it will now open in Microsoft Word without error message.

Note

If your file does not have much formatting, you may also want to open your Word file in Wordpad, save it as RTF, open it in Word and save it back to its original DOC(X) format.
