Trouble adding termbases in Trados 2015

I have recently updated to Trados 2015 and am having a lot of trouble loading termbases.

Problem: I try to add a termbase when creating a project, or when a file is already opened, and I get a "Value cannot be null. Parameter name: input" response and a horrifying red X mark, which can ruin the whole project if it's just been created. (Language pairs: Japanese-English, sometimes others). This happens with both newly created termbases and existing ones.

I have tried updates and having someone else put the termbase in; this improved matters to the point where I can sometimes put the termbase in...but it won't recognize any of the terms in the source text, so "No results available" is shown in the termbase window no matter what.

I originally thought this might be from having 2014 and 2015 installed on the same machine, and uninstalled 2014, but no dice.

The same termbases work on my colleagues' machines.

I am a translation coordinator as well as a translator, so trying to use a termbase on my desktop rather than on a local server is not helpful, since I need to send the entire project to translators.

When I open the "termbase viewer" it says "no input model" so I wonder if that is it, but...I have no idea how to deal with this, I've never had to put in an input model manually???? and have no clue.

(At times like this, when I've just spent an hour fighting with the machine, I have to say I wish SDL would spend less time putting out new releases and more time actually considering our needs. 2014 was just fine with me, and this problem never arose...2015 hasn't done me any favors yet, not to mention the upcoming 2017... But I suppose that isn't a very good business model. Oh well.)

Now that I've thoroughly complained at you, please let me know if anyone has any ideas. Many thanks and apologies.

Yours,
