How to handle .ts format created by QT Linguist

Question

Hi, 
 I received some files in .ts format created by QT Linguist to be translated. 
 I cannot open those files in Studio, but if I open them in NotePad++ I can see that they are similar to .xml bilingual files. 
 I was about to save them all as .xml format when I found in the web some interesting links regarding QT Linguist files. 
 As far as you know, is it possible to export .xliff files from QT Linguist in order to process them with Trados Studio?

Why can't you open these in Studio? Out of the box you won't be able to, but now you've seen the format can't you create a custom filetype for this? Can you share one perhaps?

Only because you have have not configured Studio to handle them... that's my point. 
 
Anyway, you can email me a *.ts file at pfilkin@sdl.com. On XLIFF from QT Linguist, I have no idea. Perhaps ask your client if they are using this software.

I found the installer here ( IMAGINE srl ):

Installed and had a quick play... was remarkably easy to export these files as XLIFF or PO (great idea on the embedded content aspect) and then back again. 
 
The thing I like the most about working in the communities is just how much you get to learn!!
