Issue opening packages in Studio 2014 created with docx in Studio 2017.

Hello Community, I'm posting this on behalf of a customer as I think they are third to report an issue with 2014/2017/docx packages.

This customer has 2017 and creates packages with docx as the source. They send the package to their translators who open it with 2014. However, upon opening the packages they get an error message every time.

The customer says: I’ve asked our vendor to give us some more information about the problem, and we tried a test package that I made in Studio 2017 with one idml file and one docx file (made in Office 2016). See the vendor’s result below. I’m now starting to suspect that it might have to do with Studio not supporting the Office version. But perhaps you have more insight in this.

 ____

Vendor: I've opened the package (docx and IDML). If I open both files together it conveys the following error for three times:

"An unexpected error occurred while activating the document view."

If you then click ok the editor appears but I cannot confirm anything, since the Confirm button is not available. It appears the same error as before and I cannot save. At the end, I have to close Studio, since I cannot work with other projects.

If I open only the Word file, it shows the following Message:

"This file was created using a file type that does not exist on your system (WordprocessingML v.2). The following functionality will be restricted or unavailable:

Saving

Verification

Preview"

If I ignore this message, I can continue to work without problems. We had this message with other agencies that used a different Office version, but we cannot solve this problem as for now. They tried to save the files in another Word version and we add a new file type in Studio, but we did not solve this problem.

If I open only the idml file, it does not show any error messages so the problem seems unique to office packages.

Can anyone offer any insight/workaround?

Many thanks
