BATCH EDIT SCRIPT TO CHANGE FIELD VALUES in Studio 2015

Scenario:
1) We're just now implementing translation memory at work, so we have quite a bit of rework in terms of alignment of legacy files.
2) We have many types of different legacy files. Some come from Division A, some come from Division B. Some were translated by Translator X, some were translated by Translator Y. Some were edited by Editor 1 and some by Editor 2. We have decided to capture all this metadata, one file at a time.
QUESTION) How do I capture all this metadata as I start a) aligning and b) importing these alignment products in the memory?
* I've started playing with Batch Edit Script and Change Field Values on Trados.
* I can run a batch operation for File 123 and, for example, input the information that it was translated by X, edited by 2, and a few more pieces of info. The problem is when a new file comes in and the fields are blank.
* How would I enter data for subsequent files?
Thank you in advance!
