Did you right click in the desktop?

When right clicking there select the last item and then click the first item below "See also".

I have German OS here, so I do not try to translate into English.

Many thanks for your reply. I did right click in the desktop (my OS speaks German as well), but everything is set to standard / as recommended there. The font size is acutally ok, it's the type of font which is different now, sorry, I wasn't precise on that. The letters are "thinner" than before and kind of dizzy. I was also checking the resolution of the display, but that doesn't seem to be the reason neither.

Check your hardware then.

Unfortunately I have no idea what could have changed the font - bu a bad connection between PC and screen or a defective graphics card and also a wrong driver may be the culprit here.

Many thanks for this valuable input. I've decided to finish my current translation job before experimenting on any drivers... so I can't give feedback yet on whether this was the solution or not. But it sounds like a good point to consider. Thanks again. Anne

Just for update, the issue is still persistent. Hardware and drivers are fine and apparantly not the problem. I also tried a system restore to a date before the date when the font type change appeared, but that was not successful (Message: unkown error. But not due to the Antivirus, that was switched off). I am now suspecting the free OCR I installed to have changed my font files...
