Studio 2017 crashes when I add a term to Multiterm

Question

Studio 2017 crashes when I add a term to Multiterm. But not always--only about every third time I add a term. 
 I then have to restart Studio, of course. But the only way to be able to continue adding terms to MT is to reboot my computer. 
 After looking for solutions here, I checked my permissions in my antivirus. I also checked that I have the latest version of Studio and MT. (I think I do.) 
 Any help appreciated.

Please make sure you have downloaded all updates for both Studio and MultiTerm. 
Open Studio- HOME/HELP/Check for Updates). 
The problem may also be due to an antivirus issue.

Hi Alan, 
 
Could you temporarily disable the AV and retry please. 
As silly as it sounds, even if a specific program has been given full permission it may 'quarantine' certain files without even telling you. 
What can help is a reinstall of MultiTerm (with the AV disabled). 
 
Can you also tell me if you have ANY Canon products installed such as printers/camera (drivers) etc.
