Is it possible to apply new Segmentation Rules to already existing project?

Question

I wanted to apply some additional Segmentation rules to some projects. 
 When I created a new project after setting the segmentation rules (within TM), of course the rules worked. 
 But when set the segmentation rules (within designated TM) after creating a project, the rules did not work. 
 
 Is it possible to apply segmentation-rule-settings to a project which was made prior to setting?

Even though Maya has already found the answer, here it is in case anyone else arrives here with the same question; 
 
Yes, you can apply new segmentation rules to an existing project, but they will only affect new files added to the project after the change has been made. Any files prepared beforehand will still have their old segmentation.
