After preparing a document I am unable to open it without first closing Trados and reopening the program

Question

Hi, I wonder if someone could help me. When I upload a new file and go to Batch Tasks and prepare it for translating I am then unable to open it. I have to close Trados and reopen the program to be able to open the processed file. Does anyone else find this, or does it mean I have a problem with my Trados program? This has been happening for a long time, but it doesn't prevent me from translating the file or compiling a TM.

Hi Genevieve, Something that might help if you haven't already tried it, is to run a Windows repair on Studio via Control Panel > (All) Programs (and Features) > SDL Trados Studio (version) > Right-click > Repair. This may smooth out whatever's causing your issue here. Hope this works for you, All the best, Ali

 Just a long shot, but I think I have the answer to your problem. When adding a file, you need to re-select the target language in which you want the sdlxliff to open, as shown in the image:

If you would change the highlighted combo box to the target language, you should be able to open your files.
