Translation memory is not updated

Question

I've noticed several times, that the translation memory did not memorize previous translations. For example: I have translated two manuals with identical parts, however, the TM did not show me the 100 % matches, it just showed some suggestions which came from external sources (like My Memory) but not my previous translations. I clicked on update main and project translation memories, I also clicked on the auto-propagation box and entered a value. 
 Did someone else experience this problem? If so, how can I resolve it?

It's often hard to sort these things out in hindsight, but the usual reasons are that you have not checked the update tickbox for your TMs; and more importantly that you understand the need to make sure this is ticked in the Project Settings and not done in File -> Options as an afterthought. 
 
Perhaps check that you have this tickbox checked?

 What a strange thing to say underneath the response from the user who confirmed it did solve the problem in this case. Perhaps, if you have this problem and are expert enough to not make a mistake like this you could also add some detail about what you are experiencing.

These are Project TMs. You can tell because they are indented below the Main TM. The Main TM is not available to you which is why you were unable to select it, but the Project TM is already there, and it's already selected, so why do you need to do anything else? 
 
When the Preoject Manager creates the package they have an option to create a Project TM, and they also have an option to attach the Main TM if they choose. If they don't include it then it's not available to you. 
 
The Project TM is a subset of the Main TM and contains segments that are relevant to the content of your translation only. How much content depends on the settings used when they were created. 
 
I'd also recommend that you create new threads for these questions instead ot tacking them on the end of threads that have already been answered.
