Converting and XLIFF file to Excel

I need to convert and SDL XLIFF into an Excel document, which was apparently its original version although I wasn't provided with it in this format. Is there an app available to do this or a way I can do it within Studio (Freelance edition)?

Many thanks

  • Hi,

You can do this using the SDLXLIFF Converter for Microsoft Office which is installed with Studio 2011 in here:

Start -> All Programs -> SDL Trados Studio 2011 -> OpenExchange Apps -> SDLXLIFF Converter for Microsoft Office

There is an option in here to export to Excel, but please note that this format does not allow an import back in again.  For import too only the Word format is useful, and as you know this is possible using the Export for External Review feature in Studio anyway.

    Regards
