Error when merging split footnote segment

I am translating a Word file that has some footnotes that are split into two or three footnote segments.

After I merge these footnote segments, I am no longer able to save the target file.

I receive the error message: "Failed to save target content: Enumeration already finished."

I thought I would mention this in the Community forum in case anyone else has the same problem.

Either the problem should be fixed, or if Studio is unable to merge footnote segments (I can understand why this would be the case) then the merge option should be unavailable (greyed out).

    Hi Bruce, can you narrow this down to a single page with footnotes that behaves this way and then share the file? I created a test file with five segments as footnotes, merged into one and it saves fine. As usual nothing is so simple but I'd like to try and reproduce the problem so we can see what needs to be resolved.

    Hi Paul,

    Sorry, I may have wasted your time.

    I tried to create a test file to duplicate the problem, but I was surprised to find that -- like you -- I have no problem saving the target file after merging footnote segments.

    The client sent the sdlxliff file together with the original Word file and it might be that the version of Studio used by the client was not up-to-date. (Is the Studio version indicated anywhere in the sdlxliff file?)

    I tried creating my own sdlxliff file from the client's Word file using my up-to-date Studio 2017, but the tags in my sdlxliff do not match those in the client sdlxliff file --and I have no problem merging the footnote segments in my sdlxliff file.

    I will have to ask the client what version of Studio they are using and ask them to update the program to the latest version.
