Thank you very much for your reply. I do not have any anti-virus software installed other than Windows Defender (Windows 10).

However, I have found the problem:

I installed a plugin app called LanguageTool Plugin (Version 1.1), which was creating the conflict.

I deleted it from my C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/SDL/SDL Trados Studio/14/Plugins/Packages folder and everything is functioning normally again.

(This explains the simultaneous error occurrence on my laptop installed version of SDL Trados Studio 2017.)

Hi,

Such error (System cannot find the file specified) occurs because Java in not installed on your computer. The LanguageTool Plugin requires Java 8 and LanguageTool for offline use to work properly. See plug-in technical requirements section in SDL App Store.

Please install Java 8 from https://www.java.com/download/. Next download and unzip desktop version of LanguageTool for offline use from https://www.languagetool.org. Then make sure the correct path to the languagetool_server.jar has been entered in the LanguageTool Path in plug-in settings.
