TRADOS won't start: failed to load project error

Question

Hi there, 
 
 Trados unexectedly crashed mid-project and when I try to start the program I'm confronted with the following error: 
 
 FAiled to load project from (location). There is an error in XML document (1672.66). Uexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: Settings, SettingsGroup, SettingsBundle, SettingsBundle, SettingBundles, Project. (Line, Position). 
 Please help - deadline imminent.

Hi Kelsie Pettit , 
 
I'd hazard a guess that your sdlproj file has been corrupted. the way to resolve this now is like this: 
 
1. Copy the sdlxliff files in the target language folder of your project somewhere safe 
2. Recreate the project from your original source files 
3. Overwrite the sdlxliff files in the target language folder of the new project with the ones from the original project in 1. 
 
Now you should find that when you open this new project it contains all of your work.
