Help - stuck after program update

Question

Help - stuck! Hopeful of there being a fix to a problem I contacted SDL about earlier (regarding missing segments related to end notes), I activated the latest update as prompted on opening the SDL program, restarted my computer, and now I can't start a new project. 
 The program is now completely stuck on 'cancelling' in the finishing stages of preparing the project for translation. 
 What is going on???? Getting frantically worried here - please help, anyone (Paul is out of office for the next week)

I believe CU5 resolved your initial problem, at least it seems to be ok for me now with your test file. So I think you should try a reset to sort out this problem and make sure the update took effect. 
 
Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0
