Term recognition stopped working in Studio 2017

I updated to 2017 a few weeks ago, and term recognition was working fine. Then this week, it suddenly stopped. After thinking it was because of the latest update to Studio, I rolled it back to the previous version (along with MultiTerm), but still nothing.

Then, I realized that this started happening after I did the update to MultiTerm, not the update to Studio. The versions I now have are CU4 for Studio and CU2 for MultiTerm.

To make sure it wasn't related to problems with existing files and termbases, I just tested it with a new project made from a new Word file, with a new TM and small new termbase. Along the way, I shut my computer down and turned it back on several times.

I'm including a screenshot (I hope it's visible, since I've never done this before). As you can see, the terms (February and Monday) are recognized, but the Termbase Search shows “No results available."

I would really, really appreciate the help.

  • Hi Becky,

The problem lies in the fact that you are looking in the "Termbase Search" pane and from the screen shot you haven't entered a search pattern, so there will be no results. I think you mean the results in the "Term Recognition" pane. If it has been hidden you can turn it back on by going to the ribbon, going to "View" tab, the "Information" panel and clicking on the button "Term Recognition". At the bottom of the "Termbase Search" pane there will now be two tabs, make sure you select the "Term Recognition" tab to be able to see the results.

That should sort out your problem.
