Regex Uppercase and Numbers

Hi, everyone. I am having an issue with Regex, that is, I do not see blue underlined WORDS and NUMBERS. I do not know whether this is related with Regex or other behaviour of SDL Trados. For example, have a look at this sentence.

“I bought a PORSCHE car in 2010”. In this sentence, I want “PORSCHE” and “2010” words to be underlined and allow me to use them in target section quickly. Now, this feature stopped working after one of the cumulative update and I cannot find out why.
Moreover, there was a string for copying the word from source to target? I cannot find it.

Your helps are really appreciated

  • Please check the settings for recognition BOTH in your TM (all TMs in the project) and the project language pair.
What you need is to recognize acronyms and of course numbers.
The "string" (I think you mean keyboard shortcut) for inserting these elements - called "placeables" - in target text is CTRL+OEM comma (so not the comma in the numeric part of your keyboard). This (CTRL+,) is called "QuickPlace".

When you change your settings to recognize acronyms, please bear in mind, that under special circumstances this may work against you.
For example if you have segments containing only words AND, CAUTION, WARNING and similar, and you confirm such a segment, all other segments with such words will get autopropagated with the English word inserted in target.

BTW, you've chosen my favorite example. When demonstrating how to use variables, I always use German car brand names :)
The car you're sitting in could be a Mini :)
