Can't use/update own TM in customers Studio package

 I get the message below when adding own TM (Duits Nederlands) into a package wich I received from a customer:

“This translation memory ‘DUITS NEDERLANDS’ will not be used for the following language pairs:

German (Germany) -> Dutch (Netherlands)

To edit the translation memories used for these language pairs, go tot he individual language pair level."

Any help is welcome, thank you all.

Regards,

Rudi

  • Hi ,

    When you add a TM to a project you can do it in two locations in the Project Settings:

    1. All Language Pairs
    2. Specific Language Pair

    "All Language Pairs" means that some of the rules are applied across all the languages in a multilingual project. "Specific Language Pair" means that you can set different rules for each of the individual language pairs.

    So if you got this message it means that the package you received was created using "Specific Language Pairs" and you will need to add your TM at that level, rather than at "All Language Pairs". So look at your settings and you'll see th actual language pairs in your project listed below "All Language Pairs". Open the right one up and add your TM in there.

    Hopefully that makes sense?
