Latest bug: "Impossible de trouver le fichier spécifié"

Hello,
Latest error "Impossible to find the specified file" does not let me save a clean file.

Studio 2015 SR3 on PC (Windows 10, 64-bit OS). I had the updated version of Studio but rolled back because of an update bug that caused huge hassles (couldn't even open Studio, see ticket form 26 May).

Thank for your prompt response.

Bianca

  • Hi ,

Can you confirm whether you have tried the security software resolution yet? Does the problem occur when you have turned off your Anti-Virus? It may be that you just need to whitelist Studio to prevent this happening. Apologies if you did this already but looking back through the thread I didn't see you confirming this yet.

    Regards

  • Hi Paul Filkin,

    Thank you for your message.
I just tested turning off my anti-virus (McAfee btw) and switched off internet as suggested, and I'm sorry to report that I'm still getting the error message: "Impossible de trouver le fichier spécifié" (Impossible to find specified file).

More on that error message: System.IO.FileNotFoundException, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089

This is usually the message I get when opening a new translation as a single file. Today, when opening a single file as a project (to avoid above-mentioned error) I got the error message: "No reference to the project is known". So much for my clever workaround!

I really appreciate any further advice you have. I really can't understand why Studio is acting up all over a sudden - same anti-virus, operating system, PC, etc.

    Thanks again,

    Bianca

  • Hello ,

Is this with the same project as before or is you create a new one? It may be that the existing project needs to be created because of this problem. I know it's tricky but if your AV has prevented files from being written to these folders then they will need to be recreated.

Why don't you log a case with the support team in case they can do something else to help, but I am thinking it is a problem you will only be able to resolve long term by making sure Studio is an allowable application in your security software.

You can log the case really quickly using this link:

    http://support.xl8.one

Just fill in the form and submit it and please make sure you refer to this thread and that I asked you to log it. Make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Thank you Paul.
To answer you question, I started afresh with a new project. Also, this seems to happen very randomly: I've been working on three big projects over the last two weeks without any problems.
    I'll log the case.
    All the very best,
    Bianca
