Hi there, I am using SDL Professional 2017 to translate English files in html format. When I am done translating each single html file and try to generate the target files (which I used to do via SDL Studio 2015), the target files come out as html files.

SDL 2017 file formats

The generated target files are not in Word. Also, the "save as" feature does not give the option to save in Word

  • Hi ,

Are you sure this is exactly what you meant to ask? The way Studio works, and Trados before that and probably all CAT tools, is that when you open an html file, translate and save target, you get an html file back. The same for all formats, Word in Word out, Excel in Excel out, MIF in MIF out etc. There has never been an option to save the target file in Word unless the original source file was also Word.

Perhaps you wanted to Export for Bilingual Review where you get a 2-column word file with the source on one side and the target on the right?

    Regards

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,
Thank you for your response. I believe I meant to export it for bilingual review when that happened. You are right. Thank you again for your time.
