I was wondering if it is possible to split/divide 1 translation unit into 2 (or more) separate translation units within the Translation Memories view?
If this is NOT possible, is there a long hand method to split translation memories?
Apologies ahead of time if this has already been answered, but I've searched all around and couldn't get a clear answer.

No this is not possible.
Note that there is an idea that has been published suggesting to add this functionality:
community.sdl.com/.../split-or-merge-segments-in-translation-memory-editor-view
Now for the long way:
1. First export the data as a TMX file from your TM.
2. Convert your TM into an XLIFF to be imported into Trados
You can use the following tool:
appstore.sdl.com/.../
* Note it cost money if your TM is over 50,000 units
* If you do not wish to pay money, you could export your TM as TMX and use the following file type instead:
appstore.sdl.com/.../
Then you can read your TMX file directly into Trados Studio.
However, if your file is very large, this solution might not work well (you may need to split up your file).
3. Split the segments in the editor in Trados.
You can also attach your TM and delete the old segments from the translation memory results window.
Let me know if this solution is not optimal for you.
A very useful tool is TMXEditor, just load the TM and tell him in how many TMs you want to split.
I was using Olifant in the past, but the new release is is not helpful anymore.
Another workaround would be to create a new document, copy and paste the source of the TU's you wish to split. Then you can add a hard return at the point you wish to split the TM. So, a return using the Enter key.
Then translate the text in Studio, pasting the Target into the split segments as you want it.
The above depends how many TUs you wish to split. It would be rather labour-intensive if there are loads...
