Studio 2015 crashes with ctrl + right mouse button (Babylon shortcut)

This has been happening frequently over the past few weeks. Babylon works perfectly with Word documents (ctrl + right mouse button to launch a word search) but when I try to use it in Studio, Studio crashes. I don't know whether the problem is with Babylon or with Studio, but Babylon was working fine with Studio in the past and hasn't been updated recently, whereas Studio was updated a couple of weeks back from what I remember. Anyone else having the same problem?

  • Hi ,

I have downloaded and installed babylon and tested it with the default Ctrl+right-click in Studio 2015 and in Studio 2017. I have no problems at all. I think your best course of cation is going to be to make sure you have no other processes running in the background other than babylon and Studio and see if the problem still occurs. If it does then I'd try a repair installation of babylon given the last update you had was Studio. See if that helps... but I don't think there is a more general problem or I should really have this too.

    Regards

  • Dear Paul,

This seems to have sorted itself out. I uninstalled both Studio and Babylon then resinstalled them, but the problem remained. I've recently updated a legacy version of Winzip that was giving me compatibility problems with Windows 10 (a known bug with older versions of Winzip that I just came across), but the only other changes have been updates to the Windows OS. The Ctrl+right-click "bug" I originally reported started some time after I updated to the latest version of Windows 10 (creators update) so it may be related to that, with the latest updates over the past couple of days (possibly) solving the problem. I haven't tried to use the shortcut for a while, though, due to Studio crashing. Anyhow, thanks for your help with this - everything appears to be running swimmingly for the moment.
