Save target as from Studio 2015 to Word 2007

Question

Hi All, I just finished a 18,000 project in Trados Studio 2015 (source document Word with tables and figures) and when I want to save it back in its original Word format, I get the following message: The file XXX cannot be opened because there are problems with the content. When clicking on Details, I get the following info: Unspecified error Location: Part: /word/document.xml, Line: 2, Column: 81990. How can I locate the said column and see what the problem may be? I have already tried to "retranslate" the file by using the TM, bit it didn't work. Thanks for your help.

 To locate the error, you would need to "unzip" the damaged docx file. A docx file is a zip container, where the text is included in a xml file. But repairing this will most probably not help. In your case I would again retranslate the file using the TM, but using a different file type. If you used Word 2007-2016 previously, please deselect this file type in your corresponding options (either for the single file approach via Advanced settings or in the proper project template before adding the file) and select the Word 2007-2013. Or the other way round. Then translate from TM. This should help. If still no help, then really unzip the file, locate the position given and try to repair. Should that not work, you will at least know, which point in the source Word file is problematic and can modify that in source, then retranslate again.
