Analysis with locked segments vs. locked segments excluded

These are two analysis done on the same project in the same version of Trados. The question is why is there a variance between the word counts for unlocked segments when performing both analyses (with and without excluding the locked segments.) Is it because, if you don't clarify, Trados still analyzes locked segments when performing an analysis? I’m trying to explain this to a client. Thank you very much for your time!

  • This is a "huge" difference of 0,03%. Would this be mine file, I couldn't sleep for weeks because of the few cents I would possibly have to give extra to my customer...
Sorry for the sarcasm, but we really speak about next to nothing. Without having the files and knowing / seeing more, I cannot tell you why. Maybe simply because the weather was better? Really - if there would have been differences of several percent, it would be worth talking about, but when I calculate the weighted words (30/60/100), I get 4,566.5 words left and 4,532.4. This makes a difference of 34,1 words in total. This is 0,07%...
