Translation Memory Fields are grayed out when viewing a TM in the Translation Memory View. Can anyone help me? Why are they barely visible and how to solve it? Thanks.

Hi Leonardo Pardo,
Please try the methods to repair/reset Studio described in the following link:
https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039395
Hopefully one or more of these methods will solve your problem.
All the best,
Ali
Hi again Leonardo Pardo,
Take a look here, where I think you will find a solution or probably two given by Jerzy Czopik and Paul Filkin to a problem that sounds similar to yours.
You also asked <Why are they barely visible?> and I should have answered that you can change the Colour scheme via the View Ribbon, here:
The scheme I find most legible is the light grey.
However, lots of people use the plug-in available on the AppStore that has 30 different colour schemes to choose from. It is free and can be found here with full instructions on how to download and install it:
http://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/color-theme-plugin/364/
I hope this helps!
All the best
Ali
Hi Andrew,
Sorry, I've been busy trying to work whilst I have the flu so haven't kept up with my emails.
I set my own custom colours a few years back and they haven't changed, they've been retained by my profile.
Here's where those and loads of other colour settings (but not all) can be changed:
via File>Options>Colors>Translation status
You click on the dropdown arrows to the right to select what you want to change and the colour to change it to.
Colour options are explained briefly in the SDL Trados Studio 2017 online Manual:
When I did it, I found that it takes a while to figure out what some of the dropdown entries mean.
Also, each colour dropdown leads to a 3-tabbed options window so you can choose between Custom, Web and System colours.
I hope that helps!
All the best
Ali :)
You're very welcome Andrew!
Most of my colours are actually set to default, it's only the bottom two lists that I changed so that all new text comes up with a pink status - most of my work is proofreading so this helps me. There's no 'right' way to do it so you can have a play and choose whatever suits you best.
Thanks for the get well wishes. A way to go yet but I'll get there!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Ali :))
Hi Leonardo Pardo,
Ah, OK, I completely misunderstood the problem. Sorry, I've been ill (flu became bronchitis) and have not been 'firing on all cylinders'!
I see what you mean. The fields are greyed out in the same way as settings are when it is not possible to change them.
Is the memory password protected by the client maybe? If so, you would not have access to change the fields here:
Access the above settings by closing the TM, right-clicking it in the left hand column and selecting 'Settings'.
All the best,
Ali
