Alignment Segmentation from Excel

Question

I have an excel file with a Russian Column and an English column. 1-to-1 correspondence between the columns. 
 I save an excel file with just the English column, then another with just the Russian column, and align them. 
 Even choosing paragraph segmentation, I can't get it to simply segment by cells. Shouldn't that work? 
 The point is to save it in a TM, then load the Russian so it spews out the right English so I can then edit it there.

I don't think you mean segment by cells as all the excel filetypes segment by cells. Perhaps you need to make sure you are using the bilingual Excel filetype to open this. This will work with the cells in one column as source and the cells in another as target.
