"This document does not contain any review changes" bug in SR1?

I updated SR1 in Studio 2017 with the bug fixes this morning and since then I have a non-stop annoying problem: a pop-up window telling me I have no review changes keeps popping up every few keystrokes. I have tried rebooting a few times and it's not clearing it. I have not had any other problems since updating to SR1 about one week ago.

I started work on another project to see if it was just the one, but no, it is happening in a newly opened unrelated project too.

Is this known? Anything I can do apart from going back to Studio 2017 pre SR1?

  • Hi Karen,

It was a stab in the dark. Sometimes when odd things happen, resetting the window layout can help. I was trying to think laterally but the trigger in the back of my mind should have been 'shortcuts' rather than 'layout'...

Your F9 button isn't sticking, by any chance? That message is normally triggered by a command regarding review changes that cannot be implemented because there are no review changes. The simplest key combo in the track changes commands is F9, the shortcut for 'Move to next change'. If you press that when there are no tracked changes, then the error message is 'This document does not contain any review changes'.

If not, please try a Windows repair on Studio as suggested in the link I posted above. That may work...

    Fingers crossed,
    All the best!
    Ali :)
