 There is an error in XML document (158, 167). 
 Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: CascadeEntryItem, CascadeItem, Project. Line 158, position 167." 
 
 I have been getting this message since Thursday July 27. To try to resolve this, our company IT department reset my Windows user thinking that that would fix it, as this worked for a colleague in the past, but the error still appears and I cannot work in Studio. 
 A colleague has a similar message: "Failed to load project from F:\folder name\folder name\folder name\document name.docx.sdlproj: 
 There is an error in XML document (451,7). 
 Unexpected end of file has occurred. The following elements are not closed: Fuzzy, AnalysisStatistics, LanguageFile, LanguageFile, ProjectFiles, Project. Line 451, position 7." 
 
 Please help as we cannot work with Studio right now.

I think the file is corrupt. If you open it in a text editor it's probably missing content at the end and is no longer well formed. This is only the sdlproj though so you can probably try this. 
 
1. Remove the offending project from the list of projects in Studio 
2. Copy the sdlxliff files from your target language folders 
3. Recreate the project from the original source files 
4. Copy the sdlxliff files you saved from the original project over the top of the ones in your new project 
 
Try and open the project and save target again.

In this case probably your complete projects.xml is corrupt. Go to Documents\Studio xxxx\Projects and rename the projects.xml to projects.xm_ 
 Studio should start now with an empty project list. You can reload your projects using the "Open project" command in the Projects view. Should the project you need be damaged, follow the steps described by Paul, but just take the sldliff files from target folder instead of the source files.
