IDML Isseus in SDL Trados Studio, failed to save target

Question

We have great problems with idml files which were generated from InDesign and send to us by our customer. We can open and translate the files but we cannot export the target idml file. 
 We don&rsquo;t have access to the source InDesign file but the customer told us that there is obviously already a problem with this source file. So, the customer tried several times to create a complete new InDesign file and subsequently to generate a new idml file. 
 When opening/editing the files in Trados (Studio 2017) we always get the following error message. Datei konnte nicht gefunden werden - File could not be found 
 Does somebody know what is wrong with the original InDesign file and/or the idml file?

Can you confirm you are using the current build? This would be Studio SR1.

Hi Karen, 
 just an idea... [:O] 
 Probably you have lost the connection to the original IDML file you used to create the project. Try to recreate a new project, apply the TM (pretranslate) and try to generate the target IDML file again. 
 To avoid problems when having completed a translation, a good practice would be creating a "dummy" target file after having translated just a couple of segments, and then overwrite it when the whole file translation has been completed.
