I've got a rather specific question for you: How could one bill working on a glossary?

The background is an interpreting assignment for EN<->DE and there only was a FR<->DE glossary with almost 2000 entries. My two partners and I added an English column to the glossary but we explained to the coordinator that we wouldn't be able to give her the glossary for free (for future use as this event series takes place every year) as it was just too much work to just give away. Unfortunately, there weren't any resources left in her budget (it was just before Christmas) so she told us to hold it back and that we would discuss her purchasing it this year when the new budget was approved.

Now the time has come and she asked us for a quote and we just don't how much to ask for... Any ideas? We can't really settle on an hourly rate because the three of us worked on it for quite some time amidst other things so it's hard to know how many hours we spent on it exactly. Maybe a flat rate? But then what would be the calculation basis? Or a rate per term?

Any experiences out there?
