After years of use without issue, my API KEY for Google translate not valid in Trados 2014

I tried to generate a new API KEY without success, same message pops up "Google can't validate the API KEY inserted". I contacted Google but they told me that I need to contact trados, I most likely obtained a Key for another domain.

I am totally confused, can someone help me with this?

thanks kr

  • Hi

If Google changed their code to only support NMT now then the solution is to upgrade Studio. If they are telling you that everything should still work exactly as it did before they introduced NMT then I don't know where the problem lies. If they now require a different call through the API then you will need to upgrade too as we will not be making any changes to Studio 2014.

I did a quick test in Studio 2014 with my API key that does work in Studio 2017 and it worked fine for me:

So the only thing I can suggest is that you follow the link to your API key in the settings and see whether you need to recreate it perhaps?
