Auto sort "Not Translated" entries first

Hi

I want to see not translated entries at first when i open editor.

I know about filter, but want it to come at first automatically on opening the file in editor.

Also want to know, whether i can highlight the things translated manually on editor?

One more query i have is "How to differentiate the things populated from main memory with the rest"

e.g. I am following these steps.

Steps1: Take 100% translated file and update main memory.

Step2: Take another same file but it is 70% translated and create a new project. (source content is same)

Step3: As soon as i open 70% translated file on editor, contents from main TM get applied against non translated source.

Here, i am not able to find what is populated from TM and what is not.

It would be great if i can get contents populated from TM at first or highlighted.

I'm using *.po files as source.

    Hi Mandar

    First, you only have the display filter. A Studio bilingual file is not a database, so you cannot Sort it. Also, if you could show all untranslated segments first, you would lose all context in the translation and it would also be very difficult to find individual segments in the source document.

    Second, if 'things translated manually on editor' means text you have translated, try the display filter, selecting 'Segment types - New translated content'.

    Third, "How to differentiate the things populated from main memory with the rest".
    Go to File-Options then select Colors from near the bottom of the left pane. In the right pane, you will see at the bottom a section called 'Translation Status'. Open the dropdown menu by clicking the arrow at the end of the 'Background colors' box. Here you will see a list of the different segment status options available, as displayed in the central column of Studio Editor view, between source and target. Now you need to select, in turn, each of the following statuses: Auto-propagation, Context Match & Translation Memory. For each of these, in turn, select a color in the color selection menu to the right side. I suggest you choose three similar but different shades of a very vivid color. You can do the same with other statuses if they match your requirement. Now when you open a file in Studio Editor, the color in the central Status column will show you segments taken from TM (as 100% or Context Match) as well as those auto-propagated repetitions.

    I hope this helps.

    Incidentally, after going to the trouble of making all these changes, save them in your user profile. Go to File-Setup-Manage User Profiles and Export user settings. You will be prompted to specify a profile name (Mandar?) and folder location.
