"An item with the same key has already been added" error message when migrating TMs

Hi all,

I have seen this error message in the forum but regarding to TermBases, translation, back conversion, etc. but in my case I'm having it when migrating some TMs at a certain point, which makes he migration fail.

I use the option "Import translation units as plain text" for most of the migrations and they work fine. However, for a specific TM I had to remove that option as that was the only way I could migrate the TM from Trados 2007 to Studio 2017 or Studio 2014.

Did anyone else face this problem? Does any of you know why this happens?

    Yes, I know what you mean but that would involve migrating my TMs manually, which is what I expect to avoid (we have quite a lot). I also tried exporting to TMX and importing to Studio manually but I had the same issue as that's what Studio does anyway. I could not find anything in the TMX thou.

    In fact I was asking for some sort of explanation why the migration didn't work until I disabled the option "Import translation units as plain text", just in case anyone knows...

    This problem was solved in the end but I would like to know if anyone else had this issue and know the reason :-)
