Unable to open target file

Question

I am using SDL Trados 2017 freelance and Word 2016. 
 I completed a translation - about 90 pages including text, images, tables - and am unable to open the target file in Word. I am getting the message XML parsing error, location:part:/word/document.xml line 2 column 22890. 
 I've tried umpteen solutions, all to no avail. 
 Is there a miracle?

Are you able to share your files so we can take a look? You can send them to pfilkin@sdl.com if this is ok? We need the fully translated sdlxliff and the original source file.
