It just stays like this. Then I have to press Close and nothing is there. I updated the software, but it didn't help.

Maybe check in your projects list that it's not just hidden from view due to filter settings or a need to scroll down? Apologies for the low tech response but perhaps starting with the simple solutions is a good idea!
