The problem seems to be the file conversion here.

Please try to convert these Excel files to TTX before you align them - simply open in TagEditor (with a TM where the source language fits) and save.

Than try to align TTX instead of Excel.

Should this not work, copy the corresponding Excel columns to Word, save as RTF and align those.

thanks for answering. How do I open my file in TagEditor? Is this feature also present in Studio 2011?

In any case I tried the second solution (copying the Excel file content to a Word document) and it seems it works.

No, Tageditor is part of Trados 2007.

If you do not have it, stick with Word.

You could use the open exchange tool "SDL TTXit!", which you can find in the Studio program group under OPen Exchange, but I am afraid the conversion would break like with WinAlign.
