WinAlign error 70157

Dear Paul,

I'm experiencing a new problem, this time with WinAlign.

When I try to align two Microsoft Excel (2003) files I get the following error window saying: "(70157): This document could not be converted properly".  Once selected the two files, aligned the file names and selected the TMX TM exchange format, when I double click on the aligned source file (highlighted in black) I get the error message and cannot see the aligned project.

Can you please help me to solve this new problem?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Francesco

The problem seems to be the file conversion here.

Please try to convert these Excel files to TTX before you align them - simply open in TagEditor (with a TM where the source language fits) and save.

Than try to align TTX instead of Excel.

Should this not work, copy the corresponding Excel columns to Word, save as RTF and align those.
