Is there a bug in Studio 2017 regarding Exclusions by Color/Columns in Microsoft Excel 2007-2016

Question

I wonder if there's a bug in Studio 2017 regarding Exclusions by Color/Columns in Microsoft Excel 2007-2016. 
 I have an Excel with an English column (column B) and an Italian column (column E). I color the B column in red, go to Options --> File Types --> Microsoft Excel 2007-2016 --> Exclusions, select the Red under Skip cells formatted with the selected color, but Studio still imports the column. I also tried typing "B" after pressing Add Column under Skip selected columns, but still Studio imports the column. Is this a bug or there's more prep work to be done before you can exclude such column?

 Thank you for posting this question into the community. I prepared a short video to look at this because there is a problem, but it a problem with the description of how to use the colours. Otherwise these methods all work: 
 
 selected cells based on text colour 
 selected columns based on naming the columns for exclusion 
 hiding columns in the excel file

 Studio doesn't do this. If you're referring to the view in the video it's just because I was using a fast preview method to get the settings right and to show you the effects of the different options. If I had opened the file in Studio for translation only the source would be populated. 
 Having said this there is another Excel filetype called the Bilingual Excel filtype. If you are using that one then you can specify Column B as the source and Column E as the target and then you don't have to do any of the messing around we have just done. You can also handle partially translated files like this too.

better to ask a new question in a new thread as this one is already answered (look at the status) so your question is easily missed. You can always refer to this thread with a link in your post if you need to. 
 
On your question... you can't do this in the Bilingual Excel filetype. But perhaps you can try something else. If your coloured rows represent rows with existing translated content then yo could use the option to confirm and lock these segments in the editor. Then you just filter on unlocked to work.
