Very strange problem with Prompsit app

Can anyone help me with this problem?

When I try to add the app "Google Cloud Translate by RyStudio" as a "translation memory" in Studio, this happens: After filling in all appropriate details and clicking OK, I get this message:

"The translation provider 'Prompsit MT' could not be opened and has been disabled."

So in the end I uninstalled Prompsit. But that did not help! I still get the same error message! (I uninstalled via Studio's Sdl Plugin Management window, since I could not find it in the file manager.)

How can this happen? And what can I do to prevent it? (I should add that when I tried the RyStudio app before -- although quite some time ago -- this did not happen, even though I believe I had Prompsit installed as well.)

PS. I have already written to the providers of both apps about this, and neither of them has heard of it before, nor do they have any idea of why it happens.

  • Hi, Mats! This is Jose from Prompsit. If you need further help, please write back to us, as I see you have solved only a part of the problem. Prompsit MT Plugin is not connected to Altlang, they are independent. They both use Apertium as you say, but there are no depedencies between them.

    The plugin is installed and in a stable version that works for many our clients, so if you are experiencing any further problem (I see you have solved it by deleting them, not sure this is the best way of fixing it, and not sure the problem was on our side), please write us back to help@prompsit.com.
