Strange behavior of Trados 2017 install

Could anyone help me please? I have installed Trados 2017 in a new computer and tried to open a downloaded Package file by clicking on it, but it never opens in Trados, instead a new blank Trados page opens up. Alternatively, when I try to open a file manually from Trados\File\Open a package and click on it, then it brings up this and other similar warnings.
I have tried to uninstall all components and install it again with Original and SR1 package as well, but with no success.

Any clues how I can fix this?

  • Hi Paul, thank you so much for your efforts to help Narek. He and I work for the same organisation and he had posted his problem on a shared internal network as well. So I helped him and we have resolved the issues. Here is what we did:

    1. We installed FileTypesMan and fixed the missing action for the wsxz file type (wsxz = WorldServer Exchange Package or some long form like this ;-)). We have experienced this problem sometimes with Studio 2014 and 2015, but occurs very frequently with Studio 2017. We were advised by SDL to try a repair, but that does not work in all cases.

    2. I opened a ticket in Gateway to have his license reset and had him rename the license file beforehand so older attempts would not counteract a new attempt to activate the license.

    Again, thank you, Paul.
