Trados Studio 2017 stops working after update

There was an update for Trados Studio 2017 yesterday (or maybe the day before), and since then, Trados stops working every hour or so. An error message appears that it stopped working, I click OK, it closes, and then I have to restart it again. Nothing changed on my PC, I have enough free memory, and I am working on the same files as two days ago. Note: this happened with the previous service pack update as well. It is quite annoying.

    May not be related to your problem but as I just went through this with another user I thought I'd mention it. A recent W10 update caused external devices (like external hard drives for example) using USB connectors to fail. The reason for this is that the Power Management tab for the devices was set to switch off to save power. As a result the USB connectors were not working properly and Studio was failing to write to the TMs/TBs:

    I don't know if something else should be managing the power correctly under these circumstances but unchecking this option seems to have resolved the issues.
