Input models not working: terms are entered but no descriptive fields

input models not working. When I try to insert terms into the termbase from Studio, it inserts the terms in Spanish and English but it does not add the default fields (i.e., the purpose of the input model) with the defined information. This has been going on since last week. I tried restarting many times. At some stage I received the message "object reference not set to an instance of an object" and at some stage I had issues saving the xliff file...I kept getting a message saying that the file was in use elsewhere but the document was not open. I work in house and my colleague has the same problem. Any ideas? Regards, Tara

The message was "cannot access the file because it is being used by another process"

  • Hi

I played around with this a little and the only scenario I could make this work was using the Flags Layout in MultiTerm (not Studio) and apply the "Full Form Input Model". Unfortunately this seems to be a bug that we ran out of time to resolve for CU7 (Studio) and CU4 (MultiTerm) that were just released. We are working on Studio CU8 and MultiTerm CU5 to resolve this issue.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I tried your solution but I still only see fields like "created by" and "modified by" but not the fields that we defined for our input models. In any case, the issue is not just seeing the fields. When I enter the term, I can only see the terms in the termbase viewer and the predefined fields of the input model do not automatically appear already filled in. Today, something has changed. I enter my term and when I click on the fields that are predefined, the predefined information comes up (so I have to do this manually instead of the info appearing automatically). However, I get an error message saying "entry not saved. all mandatory items have to be completed. Spanish> term>source. As far as I am concerned, I believe I have filled in everything necessary. In the termbase view it looks as if I have entered the term correctly, but when I check in the termbase in Multiterm, only the term itself appears without the predefined fields. I'm not sure how clearly explained this is but it is getting frustrating. Today I have created a new input model and I was hoping it somehow would work. We have many input models and now the fields are not being completed automatically. This is undermining the whole purpose of input models. Any more ideas?
