allowing creation of project packages from main project line even if some languages are ccompleted

Conditions:

  • project is made of different subfolders (each language)
  • one or more languages are ahead and returned for completion (finalize task already run)
  • other languages are in translation phase and need to be sent to review

Issue

If I want to create a new package for revision (language still under translation -> review), Studio stops me saying that one or more of the translatable files have been finalized, hence preventing me to move forward and create my package from the project line (project view).

My only institutional choice - apparently - is to work as folders level in Files View. But how to group my files then without creating as many packages as project subfolders?

Workaround

I would do (and did): Taking the package sent for translation and refilling it with the already translated files (so keeping paths)

Proposal\Idea: making selection from project node (Fles View) active for the entire language, not only for file(s) at the root level

Have you tried right-clicking on the files and choosing revert to sdlxliff?  It sounds as though the finalise batch task was run which essentially closes them down at the end.  I've never really understood the need for that task.
