Looking for old KB article no 3447

It's sometimes very difficult to find old KB articles (to me at least). In this case, I don't even know if it's relevant any more, so I'd like to read it. Can someone direct me?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hi Mats,

This one?  It's pretty old and I don't think was taken across into the new support database:

    ===============

KB #3447 |  SDL Trados Studio – Export Analysis Reports

     Symptoms

The Export Analysis Reports application provides the ability to create csv analysis files for each language in the SDL Trados Studio 2009 project, in a format that can be used in other applications. It also allows you to copy the reports directly to the clipboard, for easy insertion into another spreadsheet.

    Resolution

    Installation instructions

Run ReportExporter.msi file and confirm EULA to install the application. The installation procedure creates an application shortcut in Start\Programs\SDL\OpenExchange Apps.

    Application usage

To generate the *.csv export of the reports, follow these steps:

    1. Start the SDL Trados Studio - Export Analysis Reports application; a list of available projects will be displayed
    2. Select the required project.
    3. Specify the output path for the *.csv files.
    4. If you need headers for the *.csv files, check the check the Header for csv files box.
    5. Select the languages to export
    6. Click Copy to CSV files

A confirmation message will be displayed when export is finished

    Using the Clipboard feature

The Copy to clipboard feature is only available one language at a time, but if you clear the Include header in export option, then this feature can be useful in quickly filling in a status report:

    1. Start the SDL Trados Studio – Export Analysis Reports application. A list of available projects will be displayed.
    2. Select the required project
    3. Deselect Include header in export option
    4. Select the required language
    5. Click Copy to clipboard
    6. Switch to MS Excel and press Ctrl+V
    7. Click the Insert SmartTag and select the Use Text Import Wizard option:

    8. Use Text Import Wizard to finish the import of data in required format

    Note
This file type can be only used in SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP3. Earlier versions of SDL Trados Studio 2009 cannot be used.
