Question

The "Add new Term" and "Quick Add new term" are both greyed and cannot be used, even after using them for several years. They turned off when I tried to save a particular term (nothing special), but it turned off my Trados 2017 and they disappeared when the program was re-booted. I have re-installed both the Trados 2017 as well as Multiterm, but the problem remains. There should not be problems with management authority, as suggested by one person to an earlier question, as I have been using this software for a long time. Any suggestions, please??

Try resetting your programs and see if this helps. A reinstall won't do this. For Studio rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
For MultiTerm rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart MultiTerm: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm14

I gave you the exact paths to the folders. So it's the ones called "14.0.0.0" and "MultiTerm14". Just rename these and restart Studio and MultiTerm. If you can't even see these folders then you need to show your hidden files and folders in windows:
