Error: Failed to activate view: Translation Memories

Hello,

I have noted that this error has already been discussed and answered in the SDL Community. I have tried the proposed workaround described in the link below and it worked but I have to do the same every time I click the "Translation Memories" menu.

Then, after clicking OK in the error I have to re-start Studio and the following error prevents the program from opening it: "The translation memory data file is corrupt"

So, I used another workaround: Rename the "SDL Trados Studio" folder (c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0) to open Trados but, as I said, the "Failed to activate view..." error displays again when I click the "Translation Memories" menu.

I have just re-installed Studio 2017 but without any luck.  

Version: Freelance Plus - SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 - 14.1.6329.7

    Which of the solutions there did you try? Can you confirm that you have tried these two things?

    First go to here:

    C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

    Then rename the TranslationMemoryRepository.xml to TranslationMemoryRepository.xml_OLD.

    Then do a Studio reset. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

    If doing these two things doesn't help then I would recommend you log a support case. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

    You want to use the first option.
