SR1 causing Studio to crash and slowing down Dragon

I've finally got round to installing SR1 for Studio 2017, but am finding that Studio crashes more frequently - at least three times yesterday! - and that it appears to have had a very detrimental effect on Dragon, which is now very slow to respond in Studio and just doesn't pick up on even basic commands like Go to sleep, Wake up or Press Control Enter. It doesn't respond at all if I ask it to Select words or phrases to edit them. I can't think what else has changed as I was on holiday last week and have only noticed this since I've upgraded. I have since reverted to Studio 2017 without SR1 and everything is back to normal, so SR1 was obviously the culprit. I'm using Windows 8.5 and Dragon 12.5, but had no cause to upgrade as Dragon works perfectly. I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had this issue as it's obviously not in my interest to upgrade to SR1 if this is the result.

  • My apologies, but I've only just seen these replies. I thought I'd set the notification settings correctly, but I never seem to receive them! I've just double-checked and reply notifications are indeed on. Thanks for your answers. It does seem to be an issue with my older Dragon. Since reverting to Studio without SR1, Dragon works better, but has been crashing more frequently than usual, so I am wondering whether I should take the plunge and upgrade it too. I've also had an issue with the current file I'm working on, where I can't save my file to target and it turns out it's the latest PPT file type, which is supported by SR1 , but not Studio 2017.
