I'm not sure what's going on here... unless you closed the TM results window by mistake, so it's flashing the results and then closing again.  Try View -> Reset Window layout.

It sounds to me as though you are running the Pseudotranslate batch task.  This is not intended to be a proper translation... it's used as a test to check target files, often to get help with quoting DTP effort before you do the work.

If you want to use Google for this then you need to set the option to use MT when there is no Translation Memory result.  It's in your Project Settings under Language Pairs -> All Language Pairs -> Batch Processing -> Pre-translate Files:

Also note that it will greyed out as mine is unless you have got an active MT engine in your project already.

You have probably not updated the translation to your TM as you worked; or you worked with a Project TM and have opened your main TM to see what's in there... this will be empty until you run the batch task "Update Main TM" (in this scenario).
